OUR STORY
HOW IT WORKS
How we rescue good food
It starts with surplus. Every year, tonnes of perfectly good produce go to waste simply because it is second-grade, cosmetically imperfect or more than the market can take. We rescue that produce from local farms, orchards and backyards, then transform it into shelf-stable single-serve meals that store well, travel well and are ready when you need them. Farmers get value back for food that would otherwise be lost, and good food stays out of landfill.
Good food should never go to waste, and no one should go without a simple, nourishing meal.
OUR ROOTS
You may know us as Woodlane Orchard or SPhiker
Woodlane Pantry grew from two South Australian businesses. Woodlane Orchard began rescuing surplus fruit and vegetables and turning them into dried and powdered produce. SPhiker created single-serve meals first designed for hikers and campers, which turned out to be perfect for older Australians, people living alone, carers and support services. Same family, same mission. Today they are one: Woodlane Pantry.
We're not just preserving produce, we're preserving the value of hard work, local farming and sustainable living.
OUR FOUNDER
Meet Kelly Johnson
Woodlane Pantry started in 2019, when Kelly began selling surplus peaches for a farming friend. What began as a way to stop good food going to waste grew into a circular food business working with growers across South Australia. In 2025, Kelly was named the South Australian AgriFutures Rural Women's Award winner for that work.
"we are showing how you can make great food, back local growers and tackle food waste."
